brooklyn's test kitchen

These are awesome recipes I've made and thusly consumed, along with local food news and restaurant recommendations. This is also an explanation for future generations if I die a fat old lady with a bad heart.

  • I stopped having a boring life! I used a slap chop! It loses something in photo form, probably.
This was in the process of making a scampi full of baby octopus, squid rings, oysters, and mussels, with some sun-dried tomatoes. We served it over angel hair pasta. My mom is in the background making paella, which had clams, shrimp, bay scallops, and king crab. We also had a bouillabase with pollock, shrimp, scallops, and lump blue crab meat.
Christmas Eve at our house is great because we have to have at least 7 types of seafood, because I think Jesus says this? My sister had Christmas dinner at her house the next day, and served Chinese food, which is funny because I didn’t realize we were Jewish.
